The Workplan structure is described in the diagram below. It’s divided into
8 WPs covering all the ADMIRABLE activities spectrum from generating knowledge to Design.
WP1 and WP4 are related to Studies activities. WP2 is dedicated to Generating knowledge.
WP3 & WP8 are Integrating Knowledge activities. WP5 to WP7 will Design the different
layers functionalities
In response to this challenge, the ADMIRABLE project offers significant advantages over existing materials and manufacturing processes used in defense structures. The ability to produce complex, lightweight, and armored structures quickly, cost-effectively, and with customization capabilities represents a major leap forward for the naval defense sector.
ADMIRABLE aims to replace or complement traditional materials with advanced composite solutions that are inherently resistant to fire, corrosion, and ballistic threats—while also reducing weight and enhancing stealth capabilities.
The solution envisioned by the ADMIRABLE project is not only focused on developing a material that meets all technical and operational requirements. It also aims to identify the most effective manufacturing process—one that minimizes costs, is compatible with the studied materials, and achieves the optimal balance between cost and efficiency.
This dual focus on material performance and process optimization is key to ensuring that the final solution is both technically superior and economically viable for large-scale adoption in the naval defense sector.
